Why ‘Do What You Love’
Is Terrible Advice
Excerpt from fortune.com written by Frank Talarico Jr.

People always seem to give [...] the same piece of advice: “Do what you love.” I have been a business leader for nearly 20 years, and I have yet to meet anyone who achieved success and happiness following that advice. It doesn’t matter if you do what you love. In fact, if you wake up tomorrow to a job that “doesn’t feel like work,” you’re going to wake up in another 20 years and wonder how you could have possibly wasted the most productive years of your life.

Don’t do what you love. Love the outcome of what you do.
Love the advances you are making in your field, and the contributions you make to your community, mankind, and (if that’s your thing) your own pocket. Love the feeling that your hard work—and it should feel like hard work—is making a difference to people who need it.  Yes, your personal passion needs to be part of the equation, but go deeper than your own fulfilment.

Where do your passions and the betterment of the world intersect? That is a question that I believe this generation will answer. And for that, I am jealous. When I was growing up, the generation before me said I could shape the future. [..] in the case of newly minted graduates, it’s really true. This generation is tasked with reshaping the complexion of this planet we all live on. The possibilities are limitless.

Fortunately for you, we are entering a phase in American history that is unprecedented, one in which doing good for the world is becoming good business.

We saw it recently when 30 top corporate executives from major American businesses issued an open letter asking the president to remain in the Paris climate agreement. These companies and more—as well as some cities—then pledged to remain committed to carbon reduction goals even after the U.S. officially pulled out.

That’s what business looks like now. It’s doing well by doing good and working hard. [...],In today’s world, you no longer have to choose between doing good and doing well. The future is so clearly in need of innovative solutions for global problems that giving back is simply good business. [...]

Don’t do what you love. Love the effect of everything you do.

About punk’s revolutionary influence on the evolution of fashion, culture and couture.
Punk upended long-held ideas about age, gender, sexuality and even race. It was an extraordinarily brave movement, heroic in a way. Kids were creating garments that went beyond fashion. Punk was provocative and confrontational and it epitomised individuality and originality in a time when fashion was driven by youth and by the street. It is a reminder of a time when innovation was prized above all.

Punk reflected a time of recession. In the mid-’70s urban kids felt disaffected and alienated. Innovation was their way of finding a future they could not see. In England, punk was fuelled by socio-political anger, whereas in America punk had an artistic foundation. Its primary message is the idea of “Do It Yourself,” a sole creative source such as a designer or an artist. Those kids owned their own creativity and cultural persona and this was very empowering. In the ’70s was the first time subversive graphics were worn, promoting punk’s ideas to a mass audience.

Apart from its raw visual language, what high fashion found so compelling was punk’s honesty, authenticity and integrity. Designers like Rei, John Galliano and Miuccia Prada all consistently create fashion that dramatically changes perceptions of beauty. Nothing has come along since then that has been as radical, shocking or has dramatically changed our ideas of beauty. Fashion today is concerned with gradual changes, evolution. But we all love revolutionaries. Punks were the last fashion heroes.

Wonder Woman
We continue to unveil the most important trends in fashion accessories for 2018-2019:

The Warrior Princess
The most highly anticipated Summer movie of 2017 brings us Wonder Woman. One of the first superheroes ever created in comics and the very first female Superhero. We expect that designers and fashion aficionados will explore the Wonder Woman theme and that we will see a Sci-fi Warrior Princess streetstyle vibe emerging from Milan to New York and Paris. This trend conveys female strength beyond traditional power women looks and will have a huge impact on silhouettes, materials and colours. This is not a masculine hero look copying from their male counterparts, nor a comic dress up party; the Warrior Princess of today is truly feminine, matched with a strong independent allure and paired with a kick-ass attitude. The Wonder Woman in the midst of us is confident in her galactic skin. We have compiled below the best streetstyle looks - GET INSPIRED!
