Vasconcelos has become one of the few contemporary artists since 2008 to be showing at Versailles (Jeff Koons in 2008, and Takashi Murakami in 2010 have preceded her). The Château de Versailles was aflame with ostrich feathers. Joana Vasconcelos envisioned Marie Antoinette as a rock-star princess, arriving at the Sun King's former residence in a chopper festooned with pink ostrich feathers.
